15 years in Neverland!

1.22.2015

Now that I have 3 months and 9 days until I go to America every memory here in Croatia is coming back to me.
I think about all the Blessings God has given me and I am humbly in awe that He would send me here, to what I call Neverland.
I call Croatia Neverland because it is a town where you can walk in the forest and put you feet in the water and not fear that you will be taken, in fact that is the last thought that comes to my mind.
You can ride out to a nearby lake and watch the fish swim and dream about your future.
You can look at the mountains (outside my window) and think WOW! God is good.

My family and I are right down the road from an old mansion that over looks a glorious yard and beautiful topiary.
It is surrounded by a massive grey stone wall with black iron Gates curved and twisted to create an unforgettable sight.
It is also in the country and I go there especially when riding my bike and I just stop and look at the old war torn mansion and I wonder what stories it has trapped inside those secretive walls.

Croatia in the spring is my favorite!
The dahlias and the hydrangeas and roses wake up from their winter slumber to visit until Autumn.
The kids play games in the quiet neighborhoods, birds sing and all seems so serene.

If you are lucky you can catch the spring festivals which usually feature  Klapa ( Traditional Croatia) bands.

I like to right poetry in a nearby town park under a Oleander  bush.
It's just me, Nature and a notebook.

We used to love water fights when my brothers were here.

My little land is a Never land!
You feel like as long as you are there you will never have problems.

What's Going on in my life? #absent

1.19.2015

Obviously I have been a naughty blogger lately:(
I have been really busy and I would like to briefly explain what has been happening.
I honestly don't know where to start.

I believe you all know about my attending Bob Grays Bible college in Longview this year and in order to send in an application I had to write a 2000-2500 word essay on my testimony and call to attend Texas Ibs.
I recently finished it but it took awhile to completely finish because I needed to get some information about my parents call to Croatia in detail.
All that has to be done is I need to insert page numbers and I stink at graphical stuff, and my mom needs to read it first just to make sure that it makes a good impression on the college.
I also have to fill out the application too.

I have recently been trying a 3 part plan to clear up my blemishes which is, Cleanser, Moisturizer, and Spot treatment and honestly it really is working!
My face is fully moisturized, none of that dry patchy stuff going on, it is clearing up quickly, and redness is going away!!(slowly) lol

I used to be gluten free but since I am going to Bible college I figured since I'm not allergic I would go ahead and quit for 3 reasons.

1. I would hate to be the kid with the "problem"
2. Gluten free would cost more and I will be on a tight budget.
3. If the girls want to go get a sandwich or something or go somewhere where they don't have gluten free choices then I would have to say I cant go and I don't want gluten free to hold me back.

I am growing my hair out and it is getting so long it's down to the bottom of my waist/high hips.

I have had braces on for about 21/2 years and in April they are coming off (YAY!!!!)
I also am getting a tooth implant to replace a tooth that never came in:(
They will surgically implant a screw March,20 and 2 weeks later they will screw on the tooth.
And then I need time to get my teeth to straiten out and then the braces will come off.
Luckily since my teeth were just missing another tooth I will only have to wear a retainer at night, which is good so that I don't sound like I have a lisp during the day.
This is because my teeth have no where to spread to.

Let's turn to a nicer subject.
April,28. we are flying out to Kentucky so we can pick up a car and then slowly making our way to Texas.
I will graduate in May and am completely terrified of the SAT I have to take lol.
I know God will take care of it all.
Then we are heading to Florida to visit some old friends and I am excited to see there daughter Hannah whom I haven't seen in 6 years I think.

Then I'll spend time with some close friends in Burnett while my parents go on an anniversary trip.
I will be spending the 4th with them.

Then we head quickly to Arlington area because on the 8th I will turn 18 so I will get to spend it with my brothers, grandparents and other family.
Then in early August I will head to college and the day my parents drop me off I will say goodbye :(

I am looking forward to what God has planned for me in the future!

Have a great week!

Here are some old pics of us.
                                                                  (Joshy sleeping)

(We visited Mayberry in Carolina a couple years back and Me and Barney hit it right off) #nasadogtags
(interesting fact Floyd from the Andy Griffith show was based off of this Man who's name is Floyd.
He was a child hood friend of Andy Griffith and yes my dad had him cut his hair!)

(This man was a very close friend of Andy and back when they were growing up black people and White people couldn't go to school together and mostly didn't play together.)
He drove us in a squad car around town!

Easy guilty coffee mug cake

Mug cakes can be either a sweet treat or a rubbery disgusting cake.
It's hard to find a good mug recipe but luckily I have found one for a coffee mug cake off of prudentbaby.com

Here's what you will need:

Cake
1 tbsp softened butter
2 tbsp sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp sour cream(I used milk)
Dash vanilla
1/4 c flour
1/8 tsp baking powder
Crumb topping
1 tbsp cold butter
1 tspcinnamon
2 tbsp flour
1 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:
In a microwave safe mug soften your butter and then cream it with the white sugar.
Add the egg.stir.
Add in the sour cream and vanilla. Again stir.

Add in the flour and the baking powder stir again until completely combined!
In a bowel add all of the crumb topping ingredients and smush it all together.
Spoon the topping onto the batter and microwave for 1:30- 2:00 depending on your microwave or until a toothpick inserted in comes out clean.
Let cool for about 10 sec and them eat it all!

Modest Clothes

1.12.2015

Hey ladies I have started a modest clothing Instagram account featuring. My style check it out!

Please follow me and refer me to others!

Have an awesome day!

Stop looking to the world and start looking to Jesus.

1.09.2015

Before I start this post I would like to say thanks to my mom for giving my blog an update I think she did an amazing job so go  check her out!

In today world teenagers are sadly looking to the world for answers instead of Jesus/God.
They get depressed over silly and excuse me but, stupid things.
Take no offence, I have been there and believe me I am never going back.

When my brothers left for college I went in to "a small depression"
I was sad, alone and for some silly reason afraid of being an only child.
I ridiculously thought if I only could see a psychiatrist and maybe I am going crazy. lol
Isn't that goofy?
However silly it was, it was true.
I was depressed and I sadly stopped reading my Bible and looking to God for help.
I didn't realize that the best physician, the best shrink was Christ.
He had my back and He cared cares for me.

And a note to all those girls alone whether you are a Missionary kid, Preacher kid or maybe an only child, God is the best friend out there and He's got your back!

I have 3 short tips for those girls who just might be alone.

1. Look to Jesus.

In times when we feel alone and hopeless the best advice I can give is for you to look to Jesus, to go to Jesus!

Hebrews 12:2 says:

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.

Christ is the author of our Faith.
If you look to Jesus you will be filled with faith.

Look to Jesus for things you need and things you feel.
If you feel pain, Look to Jesus.
If you feel lonely, Look to Jesus.
If you feel over whelmed, Look to JESUS!

2. Take up a hobby.

This is not spiritually related to this post but a hobby will help you forget your loneliness.

A musical instrument, a craft or maybe a par time job are all good ways to forget that you are alone!

Maybe you like to bake, take lessons in baking and try out your favorite recipes

Do you like to sing?
So do I take a course in singing.

If you are a sewer-er then learn to sew.

What I  am basically trying to say is invest time in your future.

3. Serve the Lord with your time.

My last point is if you spend time soul winning, working at your church and helping others your "depression/anxiety" will quickly disappear.
Serving others and God will help you forget all your pains.
Believe me serving others makes you forget!

Last summer I did things for the people in my church: Bought the ladies flowers, took a picnic lunch to share with one of our senior citizens, baked treats for the members etc. my summer had never been so good.

My point is serve others and you will feel better, stronger, and wiser.
